CEPT PG test

Students with good scores in all the criteria except for CEPT PG test may be offered provisional admission in Round 1. They will need to clear the CEPT PG Test and their final merit rank will be inclusive of all criteria.

Please Note: It is mandatory to appear for all the evaluation criteria. If a candidate is absent in any of the evaluation criteria, he/she is not qualified to be considered for the merit list.

Personal statement

Please explain why the subject interests you and how you think the program fit into your personal and professional journey. Please do mention any role models, inspiring book or research projects that may have shaped your aspirations and tell us why.

- We are evaluating your [the applicant’s] motivation to pursue postgraduate study and relevance of the program to what they identify as their professional journey.

- Please remember to explain your interest rather than the virtues of the discipline since this piece will be used to evaluate what makes you an ideal candidate for the program.

Architectural abilities

Develop a timeline of selected buildings for a place that you have lived in or are very familiar with. Your timeline may comprise any one of the following - architectural works, instances of building technology, or details.

-   Present the timeline as a series of visuals (sketched plans/ sketched sections/ sketched details/ photos) accompanied by text that explains how the example represents a particularly moment in time. (include at least 5 examples in the time, maximum 250 words for each example + of two (2) visuals for each example.

-   Also include an overall explanatory note about (250 words) the time period that you are covering and how these examples present instances of architectural shifts

We will evaluate your capacity for observation, description, and analysis, as well as visual and writing skills.

We will look for coherence in the timeline, for instance, are they examples of the same type [such as houses, wooden structures, institutional buildings] which will illustrate how a particular aspect of architecture transformed over time?

We will also look for clarity of illustration and description, for instance, does the visual clearly illustrate the specific architectural aspects that you are attempting to describe?

Please DO NOT simply copy sketches or text from any source. You may reference information but please remember to indicate sources. Plagiarized content will lead to direct disqualification.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON WRITTEN PORTFOLIO:

The written portfolio is an indication of the applicant’s ability to articulate visually and in writing his/her understanding of architecture. This requires preparation of various kinds, and ChatGPT and other AI-based systems may be tools that help in searching for information, aggregating ideas, and improving writing. Please bear in mind that such sources are useful in the same way as one would discuss ideas with another person or look up information in any repository.  We do not recommend that an applicant directly copy and paste material from any AI-based system. Should an applicant be found doing so, it will constitute plagiarism and will lead to disqualification.

Pre-recorded interview video

This will be based on pre-recorded video* to be submitted along with application form. There will not be any direct interviews in person or online.

Please follow the instructions given below

*All applicants are required to submit a 3 minute video responding to as many of the following prompts as possible:

a)  Share one personal trait using which you are able to add value to any team/ cohort/ group that you are part of.

b)  Share some skills and abilities you have developed which demonstrate your attitude to learning [any classical training/ sports/ self-guided learning efforts].

c)  Share instances that demonstrate resilience [an instance where you worked through a difficult situation].

d)  Share instances that demonstrate your capacity for enterprise [initiatives, adventures, social enterprise, student/ young professional leadership]
