A: After the successful completion of the program, the student will be awarded M. Tech in Geomatics.

A: M.Tech in Geomatics is a multi-disciplinary professional course wherein advanced subjects like Remote Sensing (Optical, Microwave, Thermal and Hyperspectral), Geographical Information System (GIS),  Spatial Database Management Systems, Spatial Data analysis, Machine Learning algorithms, Programming languages (Python, Java etc), Photogrammetry, GPS and Location Based Systems , Big-data analytics, Web and Mobile GIS, Open Source technologies, Project Planning and Geo-visualization are taught. Different electives and summer winter schools are also offered as a part of the Master’s curriculum.

A: There is no provision of dual degree programs currently at CEPT University. However, the University allows you to take up to 15% credits in any other program offered by other faculties (Architecture, Planning, Design and Management) at the university.

A: Applicants for the M.Tech Geomatics program in the general category should have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories should have a minimum of 45 % aggregate marks in Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or equivalent) in 

B.E./B.Tech or equivalent any branch of engineering

Or

B.Arch./ B.Plan or equivalent (5 year programs only)

Or

M.Sc. degree in any branch of Science or Master’s in Geography

A: Yes, international students can apply for the program. Interested students may check the eligibility criteria as specified in program website. 

A: Yes, candidates currently working can apply for the program. The application criteria, eligibility criteria and other relevant information can be checked as specified in program website. 

A: There are separate forms for all Master’s programs. If a student wishes to apply for M.Tech in Geomatics, he/she will have to fill in a program related form that is available on Admissions portal.

Note: If a student wishes to apply for other programs also he/she will have to fill their forms separately.

A: As CEPT is an autonomous university, provision of GATE Scholarship to GATE qualified students is not available. Hence, GATE qualification is not compulsory while applying in the Master of Technology programs at CEPT University. For Gujarat seats, if a candidate wishes to apply through ACPC, GATE CIVIL scores will be eligible for the final merit list for the program.

A: A student, if currently in last year of the course, can apply with a bonafide letter from the College / University that he/she is currently registered with. The letter should mention the status of the student studying in the final year along with the assurance of completion of all the formalities to avail the bachelor’s degree before the date of commencement of the semester at CEPT University.

All candidates are given provisional admission. They are required to submit the original mark sheets from the Institute/University along with the migration certificate, and complete all formalities related to their previous degree, before the commencement of the first semester at CEPT University (dates will be updated on the CEPT University website). Failure to do this will result in cancellation of admission.

A. Cumulative average result of all years of the bachelors program shall be considered as minimum percentage requirement under the eligibility criteria.

A: The applications will be accepted till the date mentioned on the CEPT University website. Any applications received after the due date will not be considered for admission (visit the CEPT University website for updates).

A: Yes. The process of admission for sponsored candidates is different. Please refer the eligibility criteria and admissions process for sponsored candidates on the admissions website.

A: Yes. Candidates will be required to appear for the CEPT PG entrance examination. Please refer to the Admission Procedure on the website for the program for details.

A: Yes. 8 seats out of 24 are reserved for Gujarat state and will be filled by ACPC based on the GATE score in Civil engineering. 

A: Yes. Students of Gujarat can follow the admission procedure mentioned on the MGeo program admissions website.

A: No. The entrance examination (CEPT PG Test) is only to be given once, irrespective of how many programs a student is applying for. However, you need to fill in the form each program separately, to be eligible for their interview stage.

A: Yes. Besides, for the initial days, home-stay arrangements are also offered by the CEPT University’s Students’ Services Office (SSO).

A: With the increasing  awareness and need of decision making through information technology, graduates from the M.Tech Geomatics program build their careers with government bodies and organizations, corporate houses, NGOs, academic and research organizations. Our students have been successfully placed nationally and internationally, while many have also been successful in starting and establishing a consultancy firm for providing Geo-spatial solutions.

A: The students of the Geomatics program are placed in CRE Matrix, PwC,  WWF, Genesys, ABBSyS, Arcadis, Nascent, Enercomp Solutions Pvt Ltd  and many more in past two years.

A: Each faculty at CEPT University has its own placement office and is supported by the placement coordinator.

A: Yes. The Students Service Office circulates the information to the students from time to time. Teaching Assistance, Academic Associate, Library and Workshop related jobs are also available on hourly basis.
