A: After the successful completion of the program, the student will be awarded M. Tech in Structural Engineering Design.

A: The program offers 3 studios in the first three semesters. The final semester has a choice of 3 studios where students decide their specialization and opt for the same. The program imparts a comprehensive knowledge of designing reinforced concrete and steel buildings, major industrial structures such as silos, water tanks, chimneys, bridges and marine structures. Advanced methods of structural analysis, Foundation engineering, Evaluation of failures, repairs and rehabilitation, Timber structures, Prestressed concrete structures, Finite element analysis, Non-linear analysis of structures, Theory of plates and shells are the other relevant subjects being taught in this program. Different electives and summer winter schools are also offered as a part of the Master’s curriculum.

A: There is no provision of dual degree programs currently at CEPT University. However, the University allows you to take up to 15% credits in any other program offered by other faculties (Architecture, Planning, Design and Management) at the university.

A: Applicants for M. Tech. SED program in the general category shall have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories shall have a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering/ Construction Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university/institution.

A: Yes, candidates currently working can apply for the program. The application criteria, eligibility criteria and other relevant information can be checked as specified in program website.

A: There are separate forms for all Master’s programs. If a candidate wishes to apply for M-Tech in Structural Engineering Design program, he/she will have to fill in a program related form that is available on Admissions portal.
Note: If a candidate wishes to apply for other programs also, he/she will have to fill their forms separately. A candidate can also apply for more than one program.

A: As CEPT is an autonomous university, provision of GATE Scholarship to GATE qualified students is not available. Hence, GATE qualification is not compulsory while applying in the Master of Technology programs at CEPT University. If a candidate residing in Gujarat plans to apply through ACPC, the admissions would happen through GATE CIVIL score.

A: A candidate, if currently in last year of the course, can apply with a bonafide letter from the College / University that he/she is currently registered with. The letter should mention the status of the student studying in the final year along with the assurance of completion of all the formalities to avail the bachelor’s degree before the date of commencement of the semester at CEPT University.

All candidates are given provisional admission. They are required to submit the original mark sheets from the Institute/University along with the migration certificate, and complete all formalities related to their previous degree, before the commencement of the first semester at CEPT University (dates will be updated on the CEPT University website). Failure to do this will result in cancellation of admission.

A. Cumulative average result of all years of the bachelor’s program shall be considered as minimum percentage requirement under the eligibility criteria.

A: The applications will be accepted till the date mentioned on the CEPT University website. Any applications received after the due date will not be considered for admission (visit the CEPT University website for updates).

A: Yes. The process of admission for sponsored candidates is different. Please refer the eligibility criteria and admissions process for sponsored candidates on the admissions website.

A: Yes. We have a common entrance examination for PG programs at CEPT. Please refer the Admission Procedure on the website for the program for details.   

A: The question paper will have multiple-choice based questions. It will have three sections: (i) Quantitative abilities (Topics related to maths equivalent till 10th grade) (ii) Verbal abilities (10th grade English vocabulary expected) (iii) Logical reasoning.

A: Yes. Students clearing common entrance examination will be called for online interviews.

A: Yes. Besides, for the initial days, home-stay arrangements are also offered by the CEPT University’s Students’ Services Office (SSO).

A: Due to studio pedagogy, students are expected to work individually on the assigned projects and thereby are exposed to professional scenario right from the day one of this program. As a result, graduates from this program are preferred candidates for design firms (national/international) related to bridges, industrial structures, marine structures and buildings. They have also been successful in starting their own practice and establishing a consultancy firm.

A: The students of the SED program are placed in S3M consultants, ATKINS, VMS consultants, NK Shah consulting engineers, DELF, Buro Happold, SID consultants, Sterling consultants and many more in the past two years.

A: Each faculty at CEPT University has its own placement office and is supported by the placement coordinator.

A: Yes. Apart from merit and means based scholarships, the Students Service Office circulates the information related to requirement of assistants periodically, either as Teaching Assistant, Academic Associate, at Library, during exhibition and at Workshop etc that are available on the hourly basis.
