CEPT- A happy dream that came true. It gave me stories far my life and we started here with learning together but ended with living together. Here, with the expertise of professionals & dedication of core faculty; we came up with salving problems but not to learn solutions. CEPT is not about the days we spent there but about the nights that we lived and learned together. To sum this up, In between "what is Beam?" to “Progressive Collapse”, CEPT happened.

CEPT proved to be pool of opportunities for me. The curriculum was structured in such a way that it enabled me to set a strong foundation in my fundamentals and build further. By learning troubleshoot real life problems encountered by professionals. It was an amalgamation of core academics and practice that made my transition from campus to industry smooth. Apart from the variety and abundant knowledge I got from my regular classes, I had great opportunities to meet people from diverse backgrounds and interdisciplinary lectures. Pursuing my post-graduation at CEPT has been life altering for me. Not just the curriculum but the ambience, Interaction and above all the culture at CEPT is very inspiring and motivates to be inquisitive and perform better.I found the course curriculum to be very challenging but rewarding. MSED provided an ideal blend of practical Structural Design aspects with the basics of Engineering. I could understand the work at ATKINS from Day 1 rather than feeling lost. My experience of doing SED at CEPT University has been fantastic in many ways. The course content is very rigorous and yet flexible. The program started with a strong emphasis on basics of structural engineering and then taking it to advanced design. The importance of standard codes of practice and understanding that the codes are absolute maxima and minima is a great take away. The courses were handled by a mix of in-house faculty and a external faculty who are pioneers in their respective domain like design of water tanks, silos, chimneys, industrial and marine structures respectively. The unique feature of doing SED at CEPT university is learning through design studios. This method gave me an opportunity to work independently on real problems but also guided by the very talented faculty when in need.To summarize, doing SED at CEPT University was a life changing experience for me in addition to the experience of being in one of the best aesthetically designed campus in India and probably the world. Being from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, I am delighted to have chosen CEPT for my post-graduation studies. The studios are the most intriguing part of the curriculum, where we are taught how to have a practical approach towards problems. The electives and SWS are another way of opening students mind towards thinking about multi-disciplinary problem solutions. The two years give you an overview of how professional projects are dealt with and designed and its learning process is never-ending. I enjoyed my studies, as I found the unit extremely interesting. Through my education and work experience, I found myself what I want to do in the future. I realized that both professional experience and higher education are important to achieve my future goal. I decided to come to CEPT to continue my education. Every member here is very supportive. The program no doubt is rigorous but the faculty is very motivating and the visiting faculty keeps us intact with the industry. They give personal attention to each student academically. Studying in CEPT comes with a package of exploring and understanding concepts, implementing the same in the projects assigned and working hard for constant improvement. The studio-based learning and the guidance of industrial professionals help us become industry ready. The curriculum includes variety of structures that helps us develop the approach for any project. All the students are assigned individual projects, so learning from each other builds us more. Being from a city like Mumbai, syncing with the CEPT environment was not very difficult.

After my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, I wanted to have deep roots in civil engineering. M.Tech in Structural Design Engineering by CEPT which offers core knowledge in civil engineering along with learning and practical skills compelled me to join the course. It has given me the guidance and support to grow both professionally and personally. The campus is one of the most beautiful campuses with greenery around and provides various facilities from a well-managed central library to laboratories. I thank the department for providing numerous opportunities concerning internships and ongoing placements.

The curriculum is structured in such a way it challenges us to think in an unconventional manner and come up with real time solutions to problem faced in the design field. Meeting my classmates from diverse backgrounds is a bonus and to listen to expert lectures from professionals in the field is godsent too.
