Are you concerned about the growing urban problems and want to bring about a change in the way city services are delivered and managed?
The webinar offers an opportunity to understand how the youth can equip themselves to contribute in the area urban management. It will emphasise the need for trained professionals in managing urban areas and its services and why the market requires professionals who are able to understand the complexities involved in managing urban habitats. The webinar will provide details of the post-graduation program in Urban Management at CEPT University. The participants will get an overview of the teaching methods and resources that are utilised in the program. They will understand how the teaching pedagogy is facilitating hands-on experience in the art and science of running utility services (such as water supply systems and electric grids), logistics enterprises (such as transit interchanges and wholesale markets), local administrations (colonies, wards, and cities) as well as private sector organisations, institutions and PSUs.
About Our Speaker Prof. Manvita Baradi
Dean, Faculty of Management
Manvita Baradi is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Management, CEPT University. She is also the Founder Director of Urban Management Centre (UMC) - a not for profit organization working towards professionalizing urban management in India and in South Asia. UMC She has served as Director for International City/County Management Association‘s South Asia programs in India. UMC provides technical assistance to local governments in the areas of Local Governance, Water Sanitation service delivery, Community engagement and Heritage Management. She has been the Team leader for USAID (United Agency for International Development), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) supported programs and served as expert on World Bank funded programs for local governance, association development, and urban planning programs in India and in post conflict regions, Afghanistan, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Architect and Urban - Regional Planner by qualifications, much of her professional work has involved in conceptualizing and operationalizing Local Government Associations. She is empanelled as a specialist on Urban Management E-courses and E learning for Municipal Functionaries by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA), Government of India.
