The Master’s in Architecture in Housing Design (MHD) program is meant for architecture professionals aiming to acquire specialized expertise in the design of housing.
India is at the threshold of massive urbanization. There is a rapid influx of people moving to cities and its peripheral areas to benefit from availability of better economic opportunities and access to modern standards of living. This has led to an increased demand for housing which is further fuelled by the rising levels of household income. This has also led to a reimagination of the traditional housing types to more complex housing typologies that may include challenges of density, mix of uses, economic efficiency, climate response and technology.
Conservation and Regeneration program is a two year specialist education in theory and practice of building conservation and conservation led urban regeneration. The program situates itself in the context of the World Heritage City of Ahmedabad and engages with the historic built environments, urban histories and theories, contextual design approaches and community engagement to explore relationship between conservation practice and urban regeneration.
The program trains built environment professionals to critically research, visualise and write about how architecture is produced, inhabited, symbolised, and represented, both globally and particularly the South Asian context.
Architectural discourses from within South Asia are newly emerging even though the region has been a subject of extensive scholarly exploration. There is a distinct opening up of professional opportunities through the expansion of publishing, new curatorial platforms, emerging heritage concerns, and the rapidly expanding education sector, highlighting the need for a new generation of critical-creative architectural historians and theoreticians. Responding to these developments, the Faculty of Architecture at CEPT University offers India’s only dedicated program on architectural history and research.
Over the past 28 years, the landscape program at CEPT has been at the centre of creation, nurturing, and propagation of landscape knowledge in India. With a diverse course offering, the program develops future professionals who can confront the challenge of landscape architecture in both natural and built environments.
With an aim to create quality professionals, the program offers the full spectrum from the basics of landscape foundation studios to vertically integrated studios that offer collaborative peer learning. To complement the hands-on studios, the courses offered allows to foster design thinking and explore multiple ways in which landscape can contribute positively.
The M Arch program with specialization in Architectural Tectonics at the Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University is a rigorous studio-based teaching environment, supported by a state-of-the-art workshop, which offers manual, automated, and digital tools for production. Students shall undergo this training to design and explore their ideas in the form of models, prototypes, and part or full-scale mock-ups. The studio is both a place of research and implementation through design.
This specialization is an opportunity to explore existing and emerging methods and tools of design and production, helping students to connect between questions of architectural meaning to the questions of making while keeping up with the constantly evolving profession of architecture.
Master's in Interior Design is an interdisciplinary design-led and research informed program examining the practical and theoretical discourses in the field of interior design. The program provides for professionals from the field of design and architecture to specialise in the field of interior design.
This course is established to realise the need for design, research, innovation, and experimentation in the field of interior design. It promotes theoretical discourses, advance design and technical skills, and build professional networks in the field of interior design. The course, through its pedagogical approach, intends to build abilities in students to propose and conceptualise design solutions through integration of professional practice, material research, aesthetics, and changing technologies.
Note: Minimum of 55% aggregate marks for General category candidates and 50% aggregate marks for reserved categories candidates.
The M. Des. (Furniture Design) program is a pragmatic response to the growing needs of the furniture industry and of the market. Today, the rate of development in all Indian Metros is exponential in nearly all sectors. The demand for furniture follows on from there in the residential, commercial and institutional sectors. Currently, a large percentage of furniture supplied to the market comes from abroad and could as easily be designed and made in India.
The Master of Design Building Products and Systems program synthesizes a cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural approach with strong emphasis on the hands-on experimentation working in collaboration with emergent technologies and industrial partnerships. The goal of this program is to provide future product designers with thorough knowledge and skills in the field of industrial design: specifically, the design of products which are part of built spaces. The program builds on the human–centered design approach to problem-solving, starting with the people one is designing for and ends with new creative solutions balancing aesthetics, product performance, sustainability and ease of manufacturing.
The Faculty of Design at CEPT University is offering a post graduate program in Furniture Design. The M. Des. (Furniture Design) program is a 2-year full-time, skill-based professional program to prepare students as designers and innovators for a rapidly emerging furniture industry.

Construction managers play a crucial role in the development of built environment and infrastructure. They facilitate the process of construction planning, and ensure efficient and timely implementation of infrastructure projects. CEPT University offers a two-year full-time post-graduate program leading to Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Construction Engineering and Management. This program aims to train engineers and architects to become competent professionals in the field of construction engineering and project management. The teaching programs at CEPT University focus on building professional capacities. Therefore, they are centered on studio based pedagogy, which is inclusive of simulation of real life projects (buildings, infrastructure etc.). Coursework, seminars and research assignments, aimed at developing conceptual and analytical abilities of students, and skill-enhancing workshops support learning in studios and labs.
The M. Tech. program in Structural Engineering Design (MSED) is a two-year program. The Structural Engineering Design program at CEPT University is a pioneering program that offers studio pedagogy wherein live projects under various categories are solved, designed and detailed by students under the guidance of faculty members. The range of structures designed by students include low and high rise residential and commercial buildings, bridges, water tanks, industrial structures such as chimneys, silos and marine structures. The program faculty comprises highly educated core faculty members and eminent visiting faculty members. The graduates of this program are either placed at leading consulting firms or have also started their own practice.
